Asad Umar, is considered as one the highest paid CEO's in the history of Pakistan. Asad Umar success story is really an inspiration from struggling entrepreneurs and students. Asad Umar born in Rawalpindi in 1961 and is younger brother of Zubair Umar, who is associated with PMLN and currently serving as governor Sindh. Asad Umar did his B.Com from Government College of Commerce and Education and Went to IBA, Karachi and completed his MBA there. After completing his education, Asad Umar served in HSBC bank for few months but later on, joined Exxon in 1985. He was sent to Canada and was the only Pakistani working in Exxon in Canada at that time, where his salary was 100000 Canadian dollars. He left Canada and accepted a salary of 20,000/month.
His manager asked Asad Umar to give a call if he want to rejoin Exxon But, Asad Umar responded "You'll never receive that call". He joined Engro in 1991 and in 1997, Asad appointed as CEO of Engro polymer and chemicals. In January, 2004, he was appointed as CEO of Engro group. In his keynote address to entrepreneurs at Islamabad, he said that, most of you have heard about my success story but never heard about failures. i joined Engro as CEO and in very 1st year Engro faced a loss of 300 million and i looked upon my strategies and came up with new strategies. Advice is never disappoint by the ups and downs. Always be confident to achieve something in your life. After that unsuccessful year, he turned Engro into a group of companies and its business grew every year with 7% per annum rate. He established engro food, which remained low performing subsidiary for 4 years but after that it became one of the highest performing subsidiary of Engro Corporation. The revenue of Engro food rose to 9.67 billion rupees. He worked for almost 27 years for Engro corporation and increased the company's revenue from thirteen billion rupees to 114 billion rupees. He started with a monthly salary of 8170 rupees/month at Exxon and ended with 5.7 million rupees at Engro corporation. His long illustrious business career ended in 2011 as he joined PTI at the age of 50. During an interview about his early retirement, he said " The greatest men are those, who walk away at the top". He was elected as member of National Assembly Pakistan from Islamabad in 2013 and currently holds a leading role in PTI. He is surely a real motivation for every young soul of this country.
